Many
companies wishing to improve their software development processes
are not sure where to start or what to improve.
The
REACH programme will provide an opportunity for a number of
organisations to work together to leverage each other’s
strengths and to prioritise and improve areas of their software
development processes which will be the most beneficial. The
programme is based on the CMMI® but would be suitable
for an organisation wishing to improve their software development
approach regardless of which framework is used.
The
REACH Cluster will take a group of companies through the following:
10 Training Days at the CSE including:
-
Principles of SPI.
- Process
Areas of the CMMI® model.
-
How to achieve the cultural change necessary to make your
project a success.
-
Importance of the correct improvement infrastructure.
-
How to manage the implementation to ensure you achieve your
desired goals.
The Cluster will be a mix of training at CSE and mentoring
on site. Each participating organisation will be requested
to undertake a suitable project to which the concepts learned
throughout the programme may be applied.
A Mentor will also assist the companies with:
-
A mini assessment using the CMMI® model in order to
identify the most cost beneficial area of improvement.
-
Preparation of a realistic project plan for the improvement
project selected.
-
The implementation of the project.
CMMI®
is registered in the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office
