CSE offer a number of programmes targeted at companies wishing to undertake Process Improvement. Each is based around a different process improvement framework (CMMI®, ISO 9001:2000 and SPICE) and each provides a combination of training and mentoring to help you and your company achieve your goals. Two approaches are available. The first is ‘cluster based’ which provides a mechanism for a number of different organisations with a common goal to meet together on a regular basis allowing them to share experiences and to keep up the momentum for process improvement. The second is individual and is focused on working with organisations on a one-to-one basis. The REACH (Rapidly Enabling & Accelerating Change) Programmeis our Process Improvement programme consisting of training and mentoring specifically designed to help organisations improve their management and support of software development. The programme is based on the CMMI® and consists of nine one-day workshops over a six-month period. Each workshop addresses a key area of process improvement and also individual mentoring to assist each participating organisation in the actual implementation of a successful process improvement programme. The Implementation Support Programmefor ISO 9001:2000 has been offered by CSE for many years and provides a low cost option for small software companies wanting to implement a Quality System but without the internal expertise to do it on their own. Although the programme uses ISO 9001:2000 as a framework many companies have used it without ever wanting ISO certification. The SPI - the easy way programmehas been designed to help companies through their first improvement project. This is done in conjunction with a Mentor, so there is no need to feel isolated or uncertain at any point. An assessment is carried out, using the SPICE model, to ensure that the project, selected and undertaken within the programme, will meet the business needs of the organisation.
